- Master’s degree in any field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a combination of the qualifying fields.

- A PharmD degree with at least 18 GCH in Chemistry or chemistry related coursework such as Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacokinetics, Biopharmaceutics, General Medicine Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Drug Therapy, Toxicology, Compounding, Physical Pharmacy, and Analytical Methods is qualifying.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The following are preferred qualifications:
- Earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited university.
- Two years of teaching experience as lead instructor.
- Teaching experience in a community college and demonstrated interest in and passion for teaching community college students.
- Familiarity and willingness to employ current pedagogical, instructional, and assessment methods in teaching college students.
- Demonstrated experience with utilizing a variety of classroom technologies, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Experience working with students from a diverse background.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Work Hours
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; may be required to work different shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Brief Description of Duties:
This position will teach at both Blue River and Maplewoods campuses.
- Deliver effective instruction – Provide quality instruction, which is reflective of current discipline standards and is accurate, relevant, and engaging using college – approved curriculum and resources. Assigned classes may include daytime, evening, off-campus, virtual, hybrid, and/or online modalities.
- Assess student learning – Demonstrate reflective practice, including assessment of student learning. This includes ongoing formative assessments, as well as official departmental assessment. Actively participate in course assessment activities and utilize student learning outcomes for continual improvement.
- Manage classes and learning environments – Maintain timely and accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, and academic progress. Foster a positive classroom-learning environment by presenting information in a way that is inclusive to all learners. Support learning through student engagement – Incorporate pedagogical strategies such as active learning, authentic and problem-based activities, and other successful teaching strategies into classroom instruction.
- Provide student guidance – Help students develop academic habits for college success. Provide academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours.
- Pursue professional development – Engage in continual professional development in subject matter content or in teaching methodology and technology.
- Support an inclusive campus environment – Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and racial and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
- Participate in shared governance committees, processes, and initiatives. Actively participate collegially in department, campus, cross-college, discipline-specific, district, and community service activities.
- Participate in hiring committees for adjunct and/or full-time faculty in the discipline or in representing the campus.
- Cooperate with and participate as may be required in District investigations and/or student grievance matters of alleged unlawful harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
- Perform other duties as assigned to provide a high-quality learning experience for students, including participating in commencement, attending college functions, complete required District trainings such as Title IX, Mandated Reporter, EEO /Diversity/Elimination of Bias, Workplace Safety, Cybersecurity, etc.
- Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Meet the minimum required credentials for the discipline or program. See attached credential document. (Preferred) Advanced degrees and/or certifications in the relevant teaching discipline.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the community college philosophy. Demonstrated interest in and passion for teaching community college students. (Preferred) Recent successful teaching experience in the subject area at the community college level.
- Knowledge of and commitment to equity-minded and culturally-responsive teaching strategies and practices that enhance student success.
- Demonstrated experience with utilizing a variety of classroom technologies, both inside and outside the classroom. (Preferred) Successful online, virtual, or hybrid teaching experience.
- Understanding of, demonstrated responsiveness to, and ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community including the racial, socioeconomic, academic, and cultural diversity within the college student population, including students with different ability statuses (physical and/or learning).
- Evidence of professional activities and service beyond primary teaching assignments.
- Development and review of curriculum, including assessment of learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to reflect critically on institutional and teaching practices that aim to increase cultural responsiveness. (Preferred) Demonstrated ability to employ innovative teaching techniques and methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability addressing issues of equity in the classroom.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
