Assistant Professor of Music, Voice job with Angelo State University

The Music Area of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Angelo State University seeks to fill the position of Assistant Professor of Music, Voice. This full-time, tenure-track position calls for an individual with a commitment to undergraduate music education with the ability to teach applied voice, vocal pedagogy and literature, vocal methods, diction, and academic music courses as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• • Ability to teach applied voice with preference to the female voice.

 

• • Ability to teach vocal diction.

 

• • Ability to teach elementary vocal methods, vocal literature, vocal pedagogy.

 

• • Ability to teach across disciplines including fundamental courses in Music Theory, Aural Skills, Music History, and/or Elementary Music Methods.

 

• • Knowledge and proven abilities in student recruitment and retention.

 

Minimum Qualifications

• • Terminal degree in Music (DMA, DA, PhD, or equivalent)

 

• • Minimum of two years collegiate teaching, or equivalent
