and Accounting
Job Description
The Senior Administrative Assistant provides administrative and
general office support duties for the department chair and faculty
in the Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting. Duties
include office management, administration of department-related
communications, records management, bookkeeping, and
marketing/social media. A successful candidate will be able to work
independently, anticipate needs proactively, and have excellent
organizational and interpersonal skills. This position also
supervises student employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : High School diploma, or
equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Associate’s degree or higher, and
three years of experience in an office or administrative setting .
Strong written communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft
Office (especially Word and Excel), ability to create marketing
materials and utilize social media platforms, and familiarity with
the Workday student system. Supervisory or managerial experience
preferred.

SALARY : $15.03 per hour plus benefit package
APPOINTMENT DATE : Preferred start date of May 27,
2025, but a later start date can be negotiated.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Financial Records and Data Management
- Perform bookkeeping tasks, such as tracking expenditures for
the department’s state and Foundation accounts. - Submit invoices for payment and reconcile credit card
charges. - Process travel reimbursement for the chair and faculty within
the department. - Maintain an organized system of data and records to be shared
with the department chair and other stakeholders.
- Oversee the acquisition and maintenance of office supplies and
equipment.
Communication, Scheduling, and Event Planning
- Coordinate communication between the department office and
other offices at the university. - Assist the department chair in determining class schedules for
faculty and make sure schedules are prepared and submitted on
time. - Plan meetings and events for the department.
- Assist the Robbins Banking Institute coordinator and the Kansas
Bankers Association with activities involving the Robbins Banking
Institute. - Assist with itineraries for campus interviews and
reimbursements for candidates applying for positions within the
department
Technology and Social Media Management
- Develop proficiency in Workday, the university’s online
platform for managing student records, to process financial
transactions, process travel reimbursements, and perform HR
tasks. - Oversee the department’s social media accounts and maintain the
department’s webpages to ensure accurate information.

About the Department
The Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting is one of four
departments in the Robbins College of Business and Entrepreneurship
at FHSU and offers outstanding undergraduate and graduate
instruction in the accounting, economics, and finance disciplines.
Currently, the degree and majors offered by the department are a
B.B.A. in Accounting; a B.B.A. in Accounting with a concentration
in public accounting, a B.B.A. in Finance, a B.B.A. in Finance with
concentrations in banking, economics, and financial planning; and a
B.B.A. in International Business and Economics. Minor programs in
accounting, economics, finance, banking, and international business
and economics, and certificate programs in accounting, banking,

About the College
The college consists of four departments: Applied Business Studies;
Economics, Finance, and Accounting; Informatics; and Management and
consists of more than 50 full-time faculty supported by key staff.
In addition to a wide range of undergraduate programs, it has a
Master of Business Administration program and offers Master of
Professional Studies degrees in Human Resource Management and
varying areas of Informatics as well as graduate work in the area
