Job Description
- Prepare monthly and yearly reconciliation of student accounts
receivable, third-party receivables, and student loan
receivables - Assist with monitoring and reconciling restricted financial aid
account balances - Coordinate with Student Financial Services team to correct
outstanding reconciling items identified - During year-end, calculate and record allowance for doubtful
student and loans receivables - Maintain campus capital asset financial database
- Prepare monthly and yearly capital asset reconciliations for
equipment, infrastructure, and buildings - Work with campus community and UM System to accurately account
for capital asset purchases - Calculate accounting entries and create routine and non-routine
journal entries - Work with campus community to make changes and corrections to
financial transactions when necessary - Assist in the Accounting department team’s efforts in closing
the campus books for the fiscal year - Complete yearly analysis of campus Unrelated Business Income
(UBI) - Prepare documentation to be included in University UBI tax
return - Assist in completing NCAA AUP annual financial report and
Annual Report to the President on intercollegiate Athletics per
Executive Order 29 - Assist in finance system set up, maintenance, and monitoring
system processes - Assist in collection of information explaining variances in
financial data from year to year
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and
experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable
knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- University experience
- Experience using finance database and reporting systems such as
Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Workday - Experience in retrieving, analyzing and reporting financial
information - Demonstrated expertise in using Excel, Outlook, and
Teams
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established
as $52,223 to $62,000 annually.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not
limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education,
skills, and experience, as well as organizational
requirements.
