Alvarez College of Business

The Carlos Alvarez College of Business at The University of Texas
at San Antonio (UTSA) is one of the largest business schools in the
nation, with nearly 8,000 students enrolled in undergraduate,
master’s, and doctoral programs that push the boundaries of

Department

The Department of Management at UTSA prepares students for
leadership and administrative roles in today’s evolving business
landscape. Known for its strong programs led by award-winning

resource management, organizational behavior, international
management, organization theory, and ethics. Offering undergraduate
and graduate degree options, our programs equip students with the

Salary Range: Varies based upon applicant
qualifications, as well as course and program of study.

Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week per course,
exempt.

Essential Functions

The Alvarez College of Business, Department of Management is
seeking to identify multiple qualified applicants to fill multiple
vacancies for the upcoming academic semester (Fall 2025). This
includes introduction to management, leadership, human resources
management, and entrepreneurship. The specific hiring needs each
semester vary, but we are always seeking to identify a โ€˜bench’ of
adjunct instructors qualified to teach, so that we can add sections
and instructors as enrollments exceed capacity.

Please note, a terminal degree is highly preferred for graduate
course instruction due to accreditation requirements.

Instructors are expected to ensure key learning objectives
identified by the department chair and course coordinator are met
through classroom instruction and instructional materials.
Instructors may personalize their course’s curriculum to capitalize
on their subject matter expertise. Critical thinking and
experiential learning should feature prominently in each
course.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in business administration,
    management, leadership, or a related field relative to courses of
    interest and five years of teaching and/or work experience in one
    or more of the areas of specialization including management, human
    resources, leadership, or related field.
  • The successful candidate will possess expertise in the areas of
    management, leadership, human resources, or entrepreneurship and
    experience and the ability to incorporate active or experiential
    learning, or other evidence-based pedagogy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in management, leadership, business
    administration or related field.

Working Conditions

This position will require working both remotely in Texas
and and/on campus
(approximately five or more days on
campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s
responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in
both environments.

the department’s online and in-residence programs. Instruction for
the in-residence program may be in an online forum or in a
face-to-face class. We often have offerings in both mediums for
