Description:

Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic academic leadership by building a unified
academic vision within a comprehensive educational program. - Provides academic direction for the next strategic plan.
- Nurtures shared governance by working with all faculty and
staff, effectively communicating with all stakeholders, and
ensuring accountability at all levels. - Work collaboratively with academic leadership to streamline the
academic programs and ensure efficiencies. - Maintain visibility by being involved with, and engaged in, the
campus community. - Work with the senior leadership team in planning and budgeting
of college resources. - Ensure that the University’s programmatic offerings are current
and meet the needs of the region through ongoing analysis of
student needs to identify new programs and services. - Oversees all academic divisions and programs, the library, and
off-campus programs. - Participates in faculty committees and serves as staff for
appropriate committees of the Board of Trustees. - Responsible for faculty development and student/faculty
research. - Contributes to the development determination of program
offerings. - Provides leadership and support to faculty so that they may
excel in teaching, research, and creative activities. - Advocates and promotes quality instruction, student success,
and integrated planning to meet the education needs of all
students. - Works closely with the Senior Leadership Team, divisional
deans, human resources, and the appropriate governance groups on
all personnel matters and recommends appropriate action to the
president. - Defines and advances the academic vision of the
University. - Be willing and able to support and advance the University
mission. - Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
- Earned doctorate and a minimum of five years of progressive,
successful senior level academic administrative experience in
higher education - Experience working with assessment and evaluation of academic
programs and accreditation program reviews - Documented expertise in developing international partnerships
and initiatives - Experience working collaboratively in a shared governance
environment - Successful acquisition of external grant dollars of working
with a successful undergraduate research program(s) - Record of teaching excellence
- Consistent pattern of scholarly activity to include juried
publications - Credentials supporting a tenured professor appointment
- Supervisory experience in an academic setting
- Commitment to the liberal arts
Human Relations
- Excellent communication skills
- Possess a visionary, inspirational, and commitment to
innovation
Technology
- Understanding of emergent educational technologies
