Visiting Professor of Piano

Founded in 1852, Wartburg College is a selective four-year liberal arts college of the Lutheran Church (ELGA), nationally recognized for community engagement. The college offers more than 50 academic majors and pre­ professional and certificate programs leading to the bachelor’s degree. POSITION: Visiting Assistant Professor of Piano, 1 year term position
TITLE: Visiting Assistant, Titled
START DATE: August 2025

QUALIFICATIONS: 
Successful candidates will provide evidence of the following qualifications:
Required

• ABD in piano

• Willingness to support the mission of the college

 Preferred 

• Completed doctorate

• Candidates who are both active performers and experienced college-level teachers

Successful candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to supporting the success of all students in an educational and work environment and must be willing to support the College’s mission and contribute to the strategic plan.

DUTIES: 
The successful candidate will fulfill the duties of titled faculty to include:

1. Teach applied piano, piano class

2. Other responsibilities may include: accompanying; teaching in the core music curriculum; teaching in the interdisciplinary general education program. Recruiting and participation in faculty governance is expected
