Responsibilities:

The Department of English in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Northeastern University seeks to fill a Visiting Lecturer position in the 19th and 20th century literature specializing in African-American literature and/or Global English literatures and Digital Humanities.

Candidates should have demonstrated commitment to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education.

This is a one academic-year appointment that is benefits-eligible. The appointment will be on Northeastern’s Boston campus to begin in Fall 2025. The teaching load is six courses for the academic year (three courses in fall 2025 and three courses in spring 2026). All courses will be taught on-site.

Qualification:

  • A PhD in English or its equivalent in a related discipline in hand by the employment start date is required.

Pay Range:
Visiting NTT Faculty: $49,000 – $56,000

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
