Coastal Carolina University (CCU) invites nominations and expressions of interest for the University’s next President. The University seeks a visionary leader who is dedicated to helping ensure the University’s continued success.

Coastal Carolina University (CCU) is a dynamic public university in Conway, South Carolina, just minutes away from the beautiful Myrtle Beach coastline. Since 1954, CCU has been delivering high-quality, affordable education to the citizens of South Carolina and beyond. With over 10,000 students enrolled, Coastal Carolina has a vibrant and diverse student body. The university’s enrollment includes students from all 50 states and a growing international population, contributing to a dynamic campus culture.

CCU offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs across its seven colleges and schools, including the College of Science, College of Education and Social Sciences, College of Business Administration (which holds AACSB accreditation), the College of Humanities and Fine Arts, the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies, the College of Health and Human Performance, the College of Education, and the Honors College. The university is known for its focus on hands-on learning, research, and real-world applications, allowing students to gain practical experience in their chosen fields.

While still a relatively young institution, CCU is increasingly focused on research and innovation. The university emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly in areas such as marine science, business, and health and wellness. The Burroughs & Chapin Center for Marine and Wetland Studies is a notable example of CCU’s commitment to research. The university has a strong relationship with local industries, governmental agencies, and non-profit organizations. Students and faculty are actively involved in community service projects, internships, and collaborative ventures that benefit both the university and the surrounding region.

CCU is a member of the Sun Belt Conference and has a competitive athletics program. The Chanticleers, CCU’s athletic teams, compete in a wide range of sports, including football, baseball, soccer, and basketball. The university has earned recognition in several sports, particularly baseball, where the Chanticleers won the 2016 College World Series.

Reporting to the independent Board of Trustees, the President is the University’s chief executive, and is charged with implementing strategy and vision to further the institutional mission of a comprehensive liberal arts University. The next President will embody the highest ethics and work collaboratively both internally and with community partners to advance the institution and the region.

While applications and nominations will be accepted until a new President is selected, interested parties are encouraged to submit their materials to our consultant at the address below by April 30th for full consideration. Application materials must include a current CV and letter of interest.
