General Description
Arkansas State University – Beebe, a two-year residential community and technical college associated with the Arkansas State University System, invites applications for two (2) full-time, promotion eligible, Instructors or Assistant Professors of Agriculture to begin July 2025.
The successful candidates will possess a thorough knowledge of the discipline and teach a wide swath of courses specific to Agriculture including Agricultural Business, Agricultural Education, Plant Science, Agricultural Science, Agronomy, and Animal Science. The ideal candidates will assist the college in maintaining a relevant, up-to-date Agriculture program and assist in the operation of the ASUB Farm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The individuals hired will:
· Teach Face to Face, Hybrid, and online course offerings as needed
· Teach at each campus location as needed
· Actively recruit students to the agriculture programs and ASU-Beebe, and participate in college student recruitment events
· Maintain a roster of advisees across many Career Education disciplines
· Participate in curriculum development and review
· Participate in course and program assessment annually
· Engage in student retention initiatives
· Serve on institutional committees
· Assist in the planning and operation of Ag Day and Cream of the Crop campus events
· Assist with the Ag Club student organization
· Assist in the maintenance and operation of the ASUB Farm and Greenhouse
· Establish relationships with K-12 counterparts and business & industry partners operating in Agriculture arenas
· Establish and meet with the Agriculture advisory council at least twice per academic year
The ideal candidates will possess a strong desire for teaching and community engagement rather than research and publishing.
Required Education/Experience:
- Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agriculture Education, Agronomy, Animal Science, Agriculture Technology or closely related field.
- Strong computer and technology skills.
- One to three years teaching/training experience in secondary, post-secondary, or business and industry setting
